My particular brand of techno-paganism also involves environmentalism. Of anything that exists on earth, the last 3.5 billion years of life’s struggle to survive is, to me, the most important thing to preserve. After all, we exist as humans because of life’s commitment to diversity. For a robust future for ourselves and the planet, we should continue that emphasis.
Technology certainly doesn’t have to be an anathema to the environment. If anything, it is callous misuse of technology by short-sighted groups and individuals that threatens ecosystems. But groups and individuals can also use technology to both correct our mistakes and help preserve nature.
